The “Southeast Career Fair” organized under the coordination of the Presidency Human Resources Office with the theme of “Talent is Everywhere” started with 10 stakeholder universities and hosted by our University.

The opening of the fair, which will last for 2 days in our University’s Multi-Purpose Sports Hall, was attended by Elazığ Deputy Governor Abdulkerem ABBASOĞLU, 8th Corps Commander Brigadier General Sadettin Alp ERGİN, Mayor Şahin ŞERİFOĞULLARI, Chief Public Prosecutor Ömer CİRİT, our University Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin GÖKTAŞ, Rectors and Vice Rectors of 10 Universities, Provincial Mufti Selami AYDIN, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Bilal ÜSTÜNDAĞ, Prof. Dr. Soner ÖZGEN, Prof. Dr. Mehmet YILMAZ, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Sinan AKPINAR, representatives of institutions, organizations and companies participating in the fair and many students from surrounding and regional universities.

Our University Career Center Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Muhammed ZİNCİRLİ, who made the opening speech of the fair, stated that they were happy to host the Southeast Career Fair and thanked everyone who contributed.

Our University Rector Prof. Dr. Fahrettin GÖKTAŞ said, “Our university, which has managed to become a research university with its 18 faculties, 3 colleges, 4 institutes, and 9 vocational schools, offers services such as career planning, internship and job finding, and consultancy to its students at every stage of its education and research activities. It attaches importance to career-oriented activities by establishing close relations with the business world. Although the developing world is full of opportunities, we are living in a period where it is difficult to catch these opportunities and evaluate them correctly. In such a period, the Presidency Human Resources Office has undertaken a great duty to support both our students who are continuing their education and our graduates. With the career platform they have developed within the Human Resources Office, they guide our young people in creating career plans for their future and finding internships and jobs.

Our Southeastern Career Fair, which will be hosted by our university and supported by our stakeholder universities Batman, Bingöl, Dicle, Hakkari, İnönü, Malatya Turgut Özal, Mardin Artuklu, Munzur, Siirt and Şırnak Universities, will bring together our students and graduates who are continuing their education with important public institutions and private sector organizations of our country and will also provide access to job and internship opportunities suitable for their qualifications for university students,” he said.

Mayor Şahin ŞERİFOĞULLARI, who stated that the fair is a great opportunity for students, said, “Our city is hosting the Career Days initiated by the Presidency Human Resources Office with the slogan ‘Talent is Everywhere’. Hosted by Fırat University, which is the brand value of our province, we are bringing our students together with public institutions and private sector representatives together with 10 stakeholder universities. Every contribution we will provide for our youth, who are our present and future, is an important step taken for our future.”

Expressing their great pleasure in organizing the fair hosted by Elazığ, Deputy Governor Abdulkerem ABBASOĞLU said, “We are very happy and proud on behalf of our city to organize the career fair with our 10 stakeholder universities, coordinated by Fırat University. Our valuable students are provided with internship and job opportunities in the fair area together with all our public institutions and organizations and private sector representatives. We will host them for 2 days with an expert team regarding what needs to be done in terms of guiding young people.”

Following the speeches, the opening of the Southeastern Career Fair, organized with the theme of “Talent is Everywhere”, was held, and protocol members visited the stands one by one.

Thousands of students who flocked to the fair received information from the authorities and made various applications to realize their dreams.
